Anchorage Assembly
This is a wonderful use of You Tube in local politics.

4. Damn! Made me turn on the speakers!!
Now, can I get a cup of soup?

OK, Anchorites - what do you really think? We don't get much this far away, but everything you guys do affects everything in the state.

I kinda like her, but then again, in 1972 I kinda liked Ted Stevens.........

 fellow cold-dwellers

5. Elvi did good, just not quite good enough...
But my man Matt Claman won. We love him -- he got my daughter's marijuana-possession-at-school charge expunged (a felony since she was over 18) with just the tiniest bit of community service. Woo-hoo! Go, Matt!

6. a shame too
She did do a good job. Coffey is just flat out lucky. I hope we haven't seen the last of her and the sooner we see the last of him is not soon enough for me.

I don't even live in his district.

7. Assembly Outcome.. Coulda been better.. But still.. we did pretty good..
my man Matt Claman won

Oh man, I am SOOOOO glad he won!

When's Mayor B's term up? We're going to need someone of Matt's calaber to run against Sullivan or Coffey! (Unless you can think of some other interested Dems to step into the mayor's office in 09 ~~~ )

Matt's not in my district, but so what.. he's on our assembly!!

I was stoked that Shelia Selkrig was able to knock out Stout. He was worthless. I heard he slept through half the Assemnbly meetings, was either bored (or had no idea what they were talking about) ... It was TIME for him to go and they couldn't have elected a better candidate!!

Coffey - although it was close, he'll always have enough support to take him just over the line; not because he's a good assemblyman --- buy because he happens to own a great hockey team.

I was bummed that Val didn't pull it off, but Jennefer's husband posted signs EVERYWHERE on the Hillside... made automated phone calls probably 3X a day, and sent out glossy fliars, postcards, you name it.... they were relentless. I was so sick of her signs, but I guess the neighbors supported her?

Hopefully she won't be as bad as Sullivan, Coffey, Birch and the rest.
