Are you getting polled more than usual??

I think it may be because Senator Obama has two offices in the state, and two more in the process of being opened that the outside pollsters are taking more notice here.

I've been polled for the past three nights in a row! I didn't catch the organization that did the poll on Wednesday night, but it was Rasmussen poll who called last night.

Neither of those two used live people, but had recorded questions.. "If the election were held tomorrow, would you vote for--Select one for blah, blah, blah..." ---etc.

The Rasmussen poll last night was VERY strange!! After I selected Senator Obama, it asked me push #1 if I was "really sure" I was voting for Senator Obama.

The Rasmussen poll also had some lame push-poll type question about which was more preferable; drilling for oil or paying extremely high gas prices..

Tonight's poll was an actual person and he only asked about the presidential race, the U.S. senate race, and the U.S. House race.. I could tell he wasn't from here because he pronounced Begich as Mark "Bah-geech" When I corrected him on the pronuciation, he said "Oh, let me write that down so I get it right on my next calls tonight".

Anyone else getting bombarded with nightly polls??

1. Nobody's polling me.

I think the pollsters don't mess with us dirty hippie commie leftists. The word must be out. :rofl:

I did notice that when most of the polling agencies call, there's quite a delay from when you answer the phone, and when the recorded poll starts to run.

If you get a call and no one immediately answers after you say hello, just hold on for a few seconds... ..... and see if the recording doesn't eventually start.

Maybe you're too impatient for them?

Seriously though.. there's a delay from the time you answer and I've gotten used to hanging on to see if a poll will start.

I got polled TWICE last night... Not once --------------TWICE!! One was a Pebble Mine poll, and the other was regarding the upcoming state and national elections.

3. Maybe those were some of the hang-ups

I've had on my answering machine. Usually if I answer and there's a pause, I assume it's some charity or other calling me, and so I hang up before they get started. :rofl: I guess I'll just hold on, see if it's a poll and THEN hang up if it isn't.

I got another one last night (Tuesday night) while I was trying to cook dinner... Unfortunately, the cordless phone I had in the kitchen bit the dust, so I have a crappy phone that I can't reach the stove when I'm on.

Still.... I risked burning dinner so I could answer yet ANOTHER poll! Fortunately it was was super short presidential only poll.

I decided to fib since the call was another one of those "recorded" dealies..

I thought I'd toy with their stats and throw them off, so I hit the buttons for "Republican voting for Obama" LOL!!!

Only to a recording would I ever fake being a Repug.. (With apologies to your hubby! )
