on KFNX?
Evidently Bob Mohan left KFNX because of Mike Newcomb. Mohan said Mike taking his audience and was tired of the liberalism. When Mike arrived at the studio today he had like a five page directive on how he needs to handle the show. The management said, no Bush bashing, no commie crap (real professional isn't it?, calls must be screened and if the caller changes the subject, that person is to be cut off, talk should sway to the conservative and Mike was given articles to read for the talking points. If I remember was the aide to Clinton, can't remember the other but it was an anti democratic article. I really like Mike and you could tell in his voice he was ticked.
I received an email from Mike Newcomb this morning informing his mailing listeners he is going to Air America beginning Monday, 7-9.
Here is the letter:

Liberal Talk-Radio Marches On!!!
News Release For Immediate Release Contact: Dr. Mike Newcomb 1- 877-548-5144 Phoenix New Times Best Radio Talk-Show Host 2004 makes move Air America Phoenix and Mike Newcomb Join Forces
(Phoenix, Arizona-March 31, 2005) Dr. Mike Newcomb, a physician who specializes in caring for the elderly, and a former Democratic candidate for Arizona Governor, who launched Arizona's first liberal talk radio program, On Second Thought, on July 7, 2003 is now joining forces with Air America Radio's Phoenix affiliate 1010 KXXT(AM). Mike will initially assume the 7-9PM slot weekdays Monday-Friday. Mike will start on April 4, 2005.
Mike ploughed the ground for liberal talk radio in Arizona. Initially there were many skeptics who boasted there was no market for liberal talk radio. In an Arizona Republic article from July 8, 2003 lobbyist Stan Barnes proclaimed, "His show will come and go in the same way (former New York) Governor Mario Cuomo's, it will splash onto the scene, no one will listen, and before you know it, it will be gone."
Au contraire! Mike's show quickly gained a passionate listenership and on September 30, 2004 Dr. Newcomb was voted Phoenix New Times "Best Radio Talk-Show Host 2004". In addition Mike has also appeared nationally on many cable news programs representing the liberal cause; On Fox News he debated Tony Snow, on MSNBC he debated President Bush's paid propagandist Armstrong Williams and Guardian Angel founder Curtis Sliwa and for one hour went toe to toe on C-Span's Washington Journal with Tom Liddy, the son of notorious Nixon operative G. Gordon Liddy. Mike also has interviewed many widely known national and local public figures including: former Presidential candidates Senators John Kerry and John Edwards, DNC Chairman Howard Dean, Cher, Rob Reiner, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano and his very first guest when the show debuted Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard. Mike is now working with Radio Linx, a Scottsdale based radio consulting company in pursuing national syndication. Mike has proudly stated, "This is what liberalism is all about; believing in your hopes, your aspirations and your dreams. We now have a voice and the seeds we have planted our now bearing fruit." When asked what he attributes his success and rapid rise in talk radio to Mike wryly notes, "I am a freedom fighter, a liberty lover and a truth teller. What more can I say?" We're sure Doctor Mike has much, much more to say! Tune in to Air America Phoenix, 1010 KXXT (AM) Monday-Friday from 7-9PM for "On Second Thought" with Doctor Mike Newcomb and hop along the "Freedom Express"
