Who are we putting against Kyl?
If we had a strong candidate that could ride Janet's coattails, we could take his seat.

I heard a rumor about Jim Peterson. But I don't know if he is viable enough, god knows if he wanted to run he could (he is the state chair, and good at fundraising).

I think we need a stronger candidater, like Bruce Babbitt. We can get him out of retirement.

it seems that Terry Goddard has been doing some things that gets him on the nightly news, what with the sudafed and anti-meth stuff.

here's some discussion we had awhile back: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=139x1322#1333

7. ok, got my facts straight
was wrong on his age, thought he'd reached his 80's... he was a pretty young Governor, would have been interesting if he'd gotten the Democratic nomination for President in 1988. Anyway, makes me wonder why he never took on the Senate, McCain was elected that year and it would be "only" eight years until DeConcini retired.

6. Kyl doesn't have quite the backing that McCain does.......

I think there might be a chance to defeat him if the Dems have a strong enough candidate.

edit for typos
