Keeping the readership and editorial staff of the REDublic in mind, I tried to stay as neutral as possible. Partisanship goes nowhere with that crowd. Note my "respectful" tone...
I'm hoping for a bit o'feedback from my fellow Zonies, then tomorrow AM I will submit, revised and edited as necessary.
So, for your reading enjoyment:
It is time for the President of the United States to show the leadership abilities for which he is so renowned. President Bush should keep his word to American citizens and fire anyone found leaking the name of a CIA agent.
Any administration that permits the disclosure of a CIA agent’s name to go unpunished is an administration that does not have the safety and well-being of its citizens at heart. This disclosure sets a very dangerous precedent; how can we expect to have the most capable, intelligent, and experienced covert agents if they can believe they are mere pawns in a political game?
President Bush should lead his country by demanding a thorough, objective investigation into the leaking of the CU\IA agent’s identity The American people should be satisfied with nothing less, with so much at stake in a world where terrorism is no longer a shock to us.
