Tucson DU party coming up. Which date works best for you?
Here are our options: Saturday, December 3, from 3 until 7 or the same time, eight days later, on Sunday, December 11. If you're open to either date, let me know. In the next couple of days, I'll need to firm up one date and let the other one go.

My homeowner association rec facility will be the place and, I'll PM directions, as we get closer to party time. There's a fifty dollar cleaning deposit which I'll put up and, then, they charge a dollar per person. They'll want the fees 48 hours in advance, so I'll do a headcount about three days before the party and make the payment up front. Then, when you arrive, you can pay me back.

I'll bring the hamburger and hotdogs and I'll probably make deviled eggs, too. If you can post here what you plan to bring (buns, chips, soda, side dish, dessert, etc.) we can avoid duplication. I've been informed that beer is okay but they don't allow any food or drink in glass containers.

The facility is very nice. We'll have use of the ballfield, tennis and basketball courts, Jacuzzi for guests thirteen and older, a playground for the kids, plus indoor and outdoor cooking and eating areas. So, we're in good shape, even if it rains.

I'm really looking forward to meeting my fellow DUers from Tucson AND Phoenix.

By the way, Phoenix peeps, I am on the far northwest side of Tucson, just off of Cortaro Road and I-10. That's about as close as you can get to Phoenix and still be in metro Tucson. So, please come down for the fun. Maybe some carpooling can be arranged?

1. December 3 is the Democratic Dinner honoring the volunteers
Edited on Sat Oct-22-05 03:29 PM by saracat
and featuring Howard Dean as the Speaker. It is also the last day of the DNC Fall Convention. Trust me no one who want s to see or talk to anyone famous up close is going to want to miss this! This is our chance to tell everyone what we think and the DNC Convention is open to the public. Dec. 1, 2, and 3 in Phoenix at the Wyndham Hotel.Obviously Dec. 3rd is NOT a good day!

2. Sunday, December 11, will work just as well.
With an opportunity for Arizonans to meet Howard Dean on December 3, I should probably go ahead and reserve the later date.

Damn, I wish I could meet him.

3. I'll volunteer to bring
either potato salad or a dessert,
perhaps a peach cobbler.

I'm looking forward to which ever date.

5. Since it will probably be a little cooler,
I'm leaning toward the cobbler.

6. Sun., Dec. 11, is the date. Post here, if you're planning to come.
Northwest side of Tucson. A dollar a head, and I'll cover the $50 cleaning deposit. I'll bring hamburger and hot dogs. Let me know what you're bringing. I'll PM the address as we get closer.
