Arizonans for Humane Farms needs your help and support.

Arizonans for Humane Farms is collecting signatures for a 2006 ballot initiative to ban veal crates and sow gestation crates... it is an all-volunteer signature gathering effort and so we need everyone, from all across the state to start gathering signatures.

Veal crates are currently banned in the UK and being phased out of the rest of the EU. Sow gestation crates have been banned in FL per a similar ballot inititiative in 2002 which was passed by FL voters.

This is an animal welfare initiative, not an animal rights initiative. In addition to helping animals, it helps the environment and small farmers.


My wife and I just started the effort in Yuma County. This will be a historic fight for animals and will be a huge victory just by getting it on the ballot so we force the debate. It is sponsored by Arizonan for Humane Farms which is a coalition of groups including HSUS, Arizona Humane Society, Animal Defense League of Arizona, Farm Sanctuary, etc.
