Yay! My LTTE got published (re: Abramoff)
It was in Sunday's Tribune in the 'perspective' section.

Dems no part of scandal

In an effort to save their political lives, Republicans have been claiming that the Abramoff scandal is a bipartisan affair. Nothing could be further from the truth. Unfortunately the media, including the Tribune and their Editorial staff, have seemingly bought into this lie without doing anything more than cursory investigative journalism.

If you have an internet connection and about 10 minutes time, it becomes apparent that the Abramoff scandal rests solely on the shoulders of the Republican party. Abramoff has donated zero dollars to Democrats in at least the last 13 years. His business partner, Michael Scanlon, has donated zero dollars to Democrats. Only one Democrat can be directly connected, and that's a Congressman from Florida who received money from SunCruz Casinos, the company which resulted in Abramoff's indictment.

The only way Democrats can be tied into this is by trying to claim tribe money is as dirty as Abramoff money. This is laughable at best. Don't believe me? Ask the tribes who've been bilked of over $25 million dollars by Abramoff what they think of him.

1. High five!
:toast:

Is there a link?

In support of your letter, I would add that the tribes in question gave more to Democrats before they became Abramoff's clients. So, under Abramoff's direction, Democrats actually lost funding. Not only that but Democratic contributions went down only from the tibal clients of Abramoff. All other tribal contributions remained steady. Even the most casual undestanding of the K Street Project compels the realization that Abramoff and his ilk intended for not one red cent to go to Democrats, and to cast this scandal in any other light is a scandal in and of itself.

4. No, no link, unfortunately.
I wrote this before the story of the change in Tribal donation patterns came out. It's about 7-10 days old and just now got printed.
