It was in Sunday's Tribune in the 'perspective' section.
Dems no part of scandal
In an effort to save their political lives, Republicans have been claiming that the Abramoff scandal is a bipartisan affair. Nothing could be further from the truth. Unfortunately the media, including the Tribune and their Editorial staff, have seemingly bought into this lie without doing anything more than cursory investigative journalism. If you have an internet connection and about 10 minutes time, it becomes apparent that the Abramoff scandal rests solely on the shoulders of the Republican party. Abramoff has donated zero dollars to Democrats in at least the last 13 years. His business partner, Michael Scanlon, has donated zero dollars to Democrats. Only one Democrat can be directly connected, and that's a Congressman from Florida who received money from SunCruz Casinos, the company which resulted in Abramoff's indictment. The only way Democrats can be tied into this is by trying to claim tribe money is as dirty as Abramoff money. This is laughable at best. Don't believe me? Ask the tribes who've been bilked of over $25 million dollars by Abramoff what they think of him.
