Tomorrow at the AZ State Capitol. Gov. Napolitano starts things off at 9am with coffee and a speech and then you can see the legislature in action. From 10 to about 11:30 there will be several great speakers upstairs in the conference room. Try to make it if you can!

Actually it's in the morning. I'm excited because the Gov will be there and she's awesome! Janet Napolitano has been touted as a potential Pres. or VP candidate. Also one of the speakers I'm announcing is a novelist named Stella Pope Duarte, who is a terrific writer and fascinating speaker.

We've got about 300 RSVPs and expect around 100 more to show up. All dressed in blue. We always cause a big ruckus in the (mostly GOP) statehouse. Last year the Speaker got all redfaced and kept pounding his gavel and threatening to kick us out. Hee hee. :)

Getting the Speaker all red faced, and threatening all of you--(sigh)--good times--I wish I could be there! Great to hear you in such good spirits, so many here are so down today(understandably of course).

4. my day started at 4AM and I finally got done at 5:30 this afternoon

i woulda been there if I coulda (I went a couple years ago and it was great!)

5. It was great!

Governor Napolitano started off the day with a rousing speech. Then there was a foray into the legislative chambers, or you could attend the speeches, which I emceed. We finished off with a luncheon at the Wyndham where Pam Eads of the DNC spoke. She talked about the opportunities for women candidates and how important women are to the party. I was really pleased that she stressed the importance of reaching out to single women. When the DNC convention was in Phoenix back in December, I gave a speech at the women's caucus about how the party is ignoring this crucial demographic. She and I spoke about it at length afterwards and she's since done quite a bit of research and come to the realization that I was right about that. Single women of all ages are a HUGE voter bloc and many of them are apathetic due to both parties assuming that every woman is married and has 2.5 school aged kids. (Sorry about the tangent but I was soooo psyched about that!)
