The Gov's re-election propects are good but...
Don't get complacent. Her challenger (whoever it ends up being) will likely align with groups who are putting anti-gay initiatives on the ballot. As soon as she makes her official announcement, sign up to work for her campaign. Host house parties, circulate petitions, phonebank, and talk her up everywhere you go.

She'll win but it ain't gonna be easy.

1. Janet is rated one of the top Guv's in the US.
I have lived in this state for 33 years.
We have been embarrassed more than once by our govenors.

We finally have someone that is getting national recognition for her good work, and
now the repugs want her out?

We need to drive that message home.

Whatever it takes - Janet must stay.

2. Less concerned with guv than the other races--this year, we have a real
chance to win some important offices (State School Superintendent, for example--critical!).

Let's let Janet lead smart moderates to the polls to undo the crap we've dealt with for far too long.

I am no Tom Horne fan. Who is running against him? Edited to add: Is the AEA going to back a Democrat this time? Last time they went with Horne.

5. Slade Mead, ex-R legislator who grew disenchanted
(especially about voucher issue) with the Rs and was invited to become a Dem--which he did.

Check him out here:

6. Slade Mead and Jason Williams
I'm supporting Slade. He's in my district and has a solid education background. He got slaughtered in the 2004 LD20 primary because he was willing to stand up to the wingnuts in the Senate to save the schools and special ed.

8. Thanks for that info.
I have a daughter in Spec Ed, and that a**hole Pearce is always trying
to take away from Spec Ed.

Mead's got my vote!

3. As assistant chair of Gov's Conference she was on C-SPAN opening press
conference for the meeting of 50 governors.

Go Janet!
