As many of you know, the Air America affiliate in Phoenix Arizona was recently brought back on the air after a brief hiatus. The re-broadcasting of the network signal marked a major milestone for Air America, because it means that they’re able to broadast once again to one of the largest media markets in the country.
Additionally, Arizona’s continually growing population means that the state should be in play for Democrats in upcoming elections, as the state is beginning to show a departure from its traditionally conservative roots.
As luck would have it, I was lucky enough to be invited as a guest to promote our blog
The Blue Republic on the locally broadcast show "A Different View", hosted by Reverend Walter Wieder of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Surprise, Arizona. Walter is a friend of mine and a reader of our site, and he was kind enough to ask me to come on to talk about some of the themes that we’ve covered dealing with the interaction with religion and the public sector.
We taped the interview Monday, and it lasted approximately 30 minutes. Topics ranged from the separation of church and state to gay marriage. The conversation (as well as the whole experience) was a lot of fun, largely because Walter is such a nice guy and a very capable host, as many of you already know if you've heard his show.
If any of you care to listen to the interview, it will be broadcast on the Phoenix Air America Affiliate (KPHX 1480) at 9:00 local time this coming Saturday. If you’re unable to get to your computer while the show is on the air, we’ll try to get a Podcast recording of the interview, complete with a downloadable link from our site.
