Just got this email from PDA:
AZ Activists Take a Stand for Impeachment!
The Arizona Democratic Progressive Caucus (AzDPC) is shaking up the Democratic Party establishment in Arizona. Following an AzDPC sponsored Immigration Forum that played to a packed house during the morning, the Arizona Democratic Party held its quarterly State Committee meeting.
During the meeting, State Committee members were cautioned by two National Committee People to stay away from involvement in impeachment efforts because it could be "divisive within the party".
Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) Arizona Co-Coordinator, Dan O’Neal, moved immediately to begin a silent vigil in protest of their caution. Holding an "Impeach Bush & Cheney" bumper sticker, he took a stand along the side of the large meeting hall. One-by-one others silently joined him with bumper sticker in-hand, including members of Progressive Democrats of America (PDA), Democracy for America (DFA), and last year’s Arizona Democratic Party "Volunteer of the Year"--an Hispanic activist who had not previously been active with the Progressive Caucus.
During Caucus reports later in the meeting, AzDPC Co-Chair and PDA's National Field Director, Sherry Bohlen, announced that bumper stickers were available for purchase at the PDA table. And she announced that AzDPC would be holding an Impeachment Forum as a part of the Party’s next quarterly meeting.
Progressives stood tough against admonitions from party leadership. Impeachment work will continue in Arizona! It was a sweet day for progressive Democrats in Arizona!
