3. There's at least one!
I'm a DUer and my husband would be but he's not into blogging.
Sometimes we feel like the only progressive dems in Yuma but
there are actually quite a few democrats here. I don't know
about progressives though.

We moved here from New York 20 years ago. It's a good place
to live but it's growing too fast for us. We wanted it to
stay small. However, growth has its advantages - better
schools, doctors, etc. Unfortunately we will soon have 3
Wal-Mart superstores so we will have no small stores left. We
don't shop there, doing most of our shopping online instead.
We HATE Wal-Mart.

Anyway, fear not. You are not alone.

4. welcome to DU freakinoutinaz!
:hi:

and I hear ya about Yuma. My inlaws have wintered down there for 20 years and even they are saying it's getting too big these days. they are talking about selling their park model and finding a smaller place to go in the winter

tough to have a super progressive town when you have a large Marine base

5. oh, and by the way...
there is a small Jewish community here too. We don't have a
synagogue of our own, but there is a reform community here.
Just thought I'd mention it since I saw in another discussion
that you mentioned you are jewish - as we are.
