U.S. Senate
Candidates announce debate agreement
Three televised debates in Phoenix,
Tucson and Flagstaff



Arizona U.S. Senate candidates, Jim Pederson
and Jon Kyl, have agreed to three televised debates:
one in Phoenix, one in Tucson and one in Flagstaff.
The three debates will take place the week of
October 15th and will be televised regionally.



The two candidates released the following joint
statement:



“We look forward to appearing together and
believe these three televised debates will present
Arizonans an opportunity to compare our ideas and
our vision for the future of our state and our
country.”



The debates will take place on the following
dates:



Phoenix
October 15, 2006, Time: 4
p.m.
KPHO studios
Broadcast live on
KPHO



Tucson
October 18, 2006; Time: TBA



Flagstaff
October 20, 2006; Time: TBA

I can't stand Kyl - that's going to be the hard part of watching!

know! I am a bit nervous about this though. We must send waves of support! I might go to HQ to watch.Haven't decided.

4. Who watched?
I thought Pederson was great! He had Kyl playing defense most of the time.

BUT!!!! The second the debate was over it went right into a Kyl ad attacking Pederson - grrrrr!
Kyl had the last word, spoke well (altho full of shit-but experienced at that) and then the Kyl ad. Made me sick, but a smart move from Kyl's campaign...wish Pederson's people would have thought of that!

5. #2 tonight. On PBS Ch 8 in Phoenix at 8 pm
Tucson PBS at 6:30 I gather.

I watched the first one and thought Jim Pederson did very well!

Pederson did even better in the 2nd debate, IMO.

He really laid it out, how Kyl won't acknowledge the reality of Iraq which is a prerequisite for fixing anything.

I think Pederson did great both times.
It was Kyl who did alot worse...hahaha.

Hopefully the voters of this state were watching.
