Just saw Bill Clinton speak at ASU in Tempe!

Huge crowd! Most people waited for 2 hours in the hot sun to hear Bill and the AZ Dem candidates speak. Bill was treated like a rock star by the young crowd.

3. They estimate over 5000 people. A fight broke out instigated by JD supporters but it was quickly

quelled. Harry, Jim Pederson,Terry Goddard, Phil Gorden, lots of candidates ,including my own Jim were all there. A ittle old lady in the front collpsed and Bill had to call for aDoctor.He handled it all without losing a beat! He said he knows what the Repugs are saying without even listing to the commercials.He said they will tell you Dems are sellouts to terrorists and that people will be tripping over illegal aliens as they flee from the terrorists! He said we are better than the current croop.He said Americans are better than this and we deserve better.He sort of seemed to be channeling John Edward's but lodry this man can talk! The crowd was enraptured.It was such a pleasure to hear them chant we love you Bill!

4. Yay! I saw him speak there on the steps of Gammage in 1996

We waited hours too, had to go through some gate metal detectors, first time I'd seen that.

But it was so cool being with other Dems that day.

I remember security had been stepped up in general back there in those days, it just hadn't been exploited to the max like it has been by the current admin.
