Dr. Mike Newcomb gone from KPHX/Nova M.

This morning, Jeff Farias (who was Mike's co-host/producer, and hosts a Saturday afternoon show on KPHX) announced that Mike Newcomb was let go from KPHX due to conflicts with management, and will be replaced by a live airing of Stephanie Miller starting Monday.

1. Oh no, that sucks. I really liked Dr. Mike and IIRC he brought

left-wing talk to the valley. Any word yet on what he'll do now?

2. Wow. I wonder if Dr. Mike as against this 'going public' plan.

I guess the Drobnys want to take the company (NovaM) public. Perhaps Mike thought that the move might make NovaM subject to conservative control or something.

I suspect too that this is a result of the Drobny's plan to take NovaMRadio public. If you think about it, on the site there is no longer a reference to Mike Newcomb as the CEO, and his show was dropped.

I would think that there could be issues with someone being a part-time CEO, Talk Show Host, and Doctor with a publicly held company.

I never really got into Dr. Mike as much as I tried to. I much prefer to listen to Sam Seder or Stephanie Miller depending on my mood.
