Today Representative Chris Van Hollen, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, announced his list of the Top 40 races in the country and our race was among them!

This marks the first time the DCCC has targeted Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District since John Shadegg took office.

And the attention from national political experts is growing. Already this fall, Congressional Quarterly ranked the district as competitive for the first time in 14 years. Now Roll Call is joining the chorus. In the third quarter, we had our biggest fundraising quarter so far – while Congressman Shadegg's fundraising plunged nearly 40 percent.

All of this attention underscores what Arizonans have known all along: People are tired of John Shadegg rubberstamping the Bush administration’s failed policies. They want a representative who will work on comprehensive immigration reform, ending the war in Iraq, achieving energy independence and restoring the middle class. In short, they are hungry for a change – change that I pledge to bring.

The momentum is clearly on our side, but we must keep it going!
