Wow. Steve Gallardo, veteren Dem Lawmaker quits refuses to be sworn in.
Steve, the former Dem minority whip in the Legislature, refused to be sworn in and has quit. He sees the disaster that is Arizona without Janet to stem the tide of the even more GOP dominent Leg in Az.He said that $24,000 is not enough to live on and nothing is going to be accomplished with Jan Brewer as Governor.
Steve is a great Democrat and a wonderful legaslator. He is a three term legislator fro LD 13. He will be missed but I can't say I blame him him. Arizona is truly f**cked. And we were almost blue.

2. As did I .Our legislators for the most part , don't have "extra "income.
David Shapira just lost his job as an adjunct Prof at ASU. Why good folks can't serve. But I think Steve would have stayed if he felt it would have done any good.It wouldnt have. We aren'ty going to be able to do much of anything to stem the tide. The only fragile hope is if Brewer isn't as bad as is indicated. Shey may want to be elected badly enough to move to the center. One hopes.Pathetic, insn't it. And much of it was preventable.
