We've got some work to do regarding the Stimulus funds coming to our state.

I'm assuming that this bill will pass, and can't imagine that Az will be left out.

I was thinking that we need to figure out a way to get Brewer to be transparent with the funds we get.

As an example, Obama wants some of the state funding to go to education, yet she just cut funds for education - so shouldn't those cuts be reversed?

I don't trust her to do the right things with the funding - she'll probably fund everything Pearce and Kavanagh want.

Any ideas on how we can *force* her to be transparent? I really think it needs to be done.

The only idea I have so far is that I know of an online group that is active in Az.

They really stay on top of issues. And I am going to contact them with my concerns.
I guess we can always email or call the few Dems that are in our state government.

1. I'm sure they're counting on stimulus funds to help with education

but Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh are committed to "school choice" which is just a euphemism for wanting to destroy public education. There was definitely malice in their decision to gut education funding.

That said, I agree with you that where the funds go needs to be transparent. I don't trust Brewer the hack and the rest of them to do that. According to this website:

2. What Pork for Arizona?

You know the money will pass Arizona since McCain considers it all pork in the Senate and Flake won't call for it in the House. These same guys derailed the education part of the stimulus package and consider public schools the problem.

Arizona leads the way in foreclosures... so now the Republicans can say we are number one in America in something. Please attend the rallies for Education as we try to protect what little we have.
