Primary - Embarrased to be ignorant
For the first time in years I'm not up on the local candidates (I guess there was some good in getting the Arizona Repulsive delivered).

At this point, as much as I'd like to vote my principles, I'm more likely to vote for any Dem who can beat the Repub. Since I trust DU, I'd like to get your opinions on some candidates:

Attorney General - I really think Thomas is going to win the Repub primary because Repubs do really like their psychopaths. Of the three Dem candidates, who do you think can give him a run for his money?

Secretary of State - who is stronger?

Does anyone think we have a realistic chance of taking the Senate seat?

1. I'm not going to tell you who to vote for. And yes I do think we have a chance to win the Senate
because Repugs don't like McCain, and no matter who wins tomorrow they will be a fresh, younger person than McCain.

Here's a good site to check out:

2. I'm not asking you to tell me who to vote for
I was hoping to get some of the really sharp and insightful analysis DUers are so good at.

4. I hope I didn't sound snarky when I posted that.
If I did, I apologize, that's not what I meant at all. I knew alot about the Senate candidates, and about Goddard, but not much about the other people that are running. I found that link really helpful to make my decisions as it led me to their websites and was able to read about their positions, endorsements, experience and was hoping it would help you too.

Sorry:blush:

5. Maybe a teeny bit snarky
but I also probably overreacted a bit.

I'm just really frustrated by this election year. I felt that AZ was finally moving in the right direction with Napolitano and we had the chance to turn the state at least a little more purple. Now I feel pretty hopeless. If Napolitano had still been Governor I think she could have run against McCain (although would she have had to resign to run - that would have sucked although not as bad as when she did leave) and possibly won. Now I feel like we're going to be stuck with Kyl, McCain, Arpaio, and Thomas and continue to be one of the most embarrassing states in the union. I hope you are right about the Senate race.

As an educated upper-middle class white person with a relatively secure job and no kids the disastrous direction this state is heading towards isn't really going to have a personal effect on me beyond the way it makes my blood pressure rise ... at least not yet (give Arpaio and Thomas enough time and they'll find a way to make life a living hell for everyone in this county except their cronies) ... but I really, really, really hate living in what I see as a completely morally bankrupt and dangerously fascist and fundamentalist state. It's really hard to have moved here from NY (and CA before that). I'm not used to being this much in the minority (even though I lived in red areas of both those states).

Sigh. I guess we'll just have to see what November brings.

7. It is frustrating! Look back at Nov 2008 - Obama was within 10% points of McCain
in McCain's home state.

Sb1070 - it brought out all the crazies. I'm worried about November. Let's see what Goddard and Glassman are made of. We have to defeat Brewer.

3. yeah it is the worse information on an election since I got here
and now that I am not on the air here anymore, I find it harder to talk to candidates. Here are candidates I like or feel is worth voting for.

Senate Race- I like all 3 Democrats and hope McCain beats Hayworth because I just don't trust the Democratic Party leadership to support their candidate.

I like the Sam Wercinski but of late he has been a bit disappointing. Sam does have the experience and appeal to gather independants.

another race I am watching in the Republican Primary is Maricopa County Attorney. I am behind Rick Romley and hope he beats the Arpaio chosen Montgomery.

6. This is how I feel
the Dems in this state have all disappeared. It makes me sad but that is the fact. I was at one time for Glassman but he slid away, I was for Sam Wercinski he disappeared. They all disappeared.
