Arpaio Wins
Rick Romley lost to a candidate nobody heard from but who relied on Arpaio to win. Sadly we have no Democrat running for this so Arpaio gets another lap dog to be County Attorney. You would think with 4 running for Senate the Democrats would have had at least one running for County Attorney to keep Arpaio from grabbing more power.

1. Arpaio is in the news right now - he crossed the line for his attacks on Romley...

3. face it Jillan we have too many stupids
they think Arpaio is doing a great job on illegal immigration and even when you tell them the Phoenix and Mesa PDs have 8 times the arrest of undocument with more being the serious criminals, they just say, "I don't believe that." Like belief is more dependable than facts.

4. Dougherty would've have been a good one to run. With his investigative experience
he just may have been able to take this regime apart. oh welllll.....

6. yes I agree
but that is what bothers me about Democrats in this state, they keep eyeing the national positions and ignore the state and local unless it Governor, then wonder why our state does such stupid stuff as SB1070. We got to learn to win local elections is the foundation to winning national positions.

7. You have to fault the Az Dem Party - who is even in charge?
There should be someone scouting for candidates.

Living in Chandler is disgusting - we had NO ONE even running for State Senate.

Saracat posts here sometimes - her husband is in local politics and she is always complaining how the dems in this state get no help.

10. Try being out here in Pinal Country
The GOP Arpaio-wanna-be- sheriff's brawling, debt-ridden brother just won the JP nomination over the incumbent who, though R, is no whack job. JP and Sheriff in the same county being brothers? Can you spell conflict of interest?

no matter, the pukes will vote Shaun Babeu in.

I was moderately active in the Maricopa dems with Saracat a few years ago, and it was monumental frustration. I've never seen such a haphazard, disorganized mess in my life. (Even the company I work for, disorganized as they are, is better than the AZ Dems.)

And they need to get the message that they can't win elections for which they have no candidate at all. I don't think they've figured it out yet at all.

What stupids.

8. Is Dougherty a lawyer?
It would be priceless to watch Sheriff Joe try and have him arrested, but I'm not sure he's qualified for County Attorney. Was CA the position that Ken Cheuvront was running for but got disqualified for improper filing?
I cannot believe how well Arpaio's cabal did - my hope is that indictments come down before November on Thomas. Guess I've gotta vote Libertarian for CA.

9. Can a candidate be added
after the primary? Could we find someone who could run even as an Independent?

11. Ha! I just posted with similar sentiments about Romley.
Great minds and all that...

I was wondering whether Romley could run as an Independent.

13. Oh man! Now he's closing in on Horne.

http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/local/articles/2010/08/28/20100828primary0828.html

He is not going to concede - they are counting provisional ballots now, most are from Maricopa County where Thomas is favored.
Horne is favored in Pima county.

If there is a God.....please get Arpaio's 'Get Out Of Jail Free' partner out of power.

15. Felecia Rotellini
She was the best IMO.

David Lujan was the House Minority Leader that missed the vote for SB 1070 but publicly opposed it the whole time. Also his lame excuses kept changing for why he missed the vote.

Vince Rabago I didn't know too much about. I felt uneasy over the fact he used a pending case against a payday loan place as one of his accomplishments so I didn't vote for him.

Rotellini "won" the one debate I saw with the three of them but to be honest all 3 said they would be tough on crime which is great. I just wanted to know if they'd be a little too tough like an Andrew Thomas but he was one pretty bad guy that any Dem would be better.

All I want is for Thomas to be out....even if she can't win. Horne will be much better than Arpaio's puppet.

That said, I will do all I can to help her get elected....once I learn how to spell her name ;)
