Options for uninsured AZ resident

Hi all,

Someone I know (I can't really call her a friend) here in AZ does not have insurance (works hourly part-time/contract/seasonal work for the city teaching recreation classes) and wants/needs to get some. She told me that she makes $1000 too much to qualify for AHCCCS and said that she doesn't have the $1500 - $2000 it would cost to get health insurance under the new health care bill. When she asked me what she should do I refrained from saying "Stop voting Republican" (one of the reasons I don't consider her a friend is because she's a classic hypocritical Republican where government spending is wasteful except for her pay) and instead said that I would ask around. Are there any agencies or organizations I can refer her to who might be able to help her find lower cost health insurance or a lower cost health care?

1. Nope. And I refrain from reminding you the GOP wasn't the party that

brought us the HCR. And it may sound harsh but if she is a Republican I wouldn't tell her even if I knew.Both parties have screwed with healtcare but the GOP is so vile on so many levels here in AZ that I wouldn't help a blasted one out under ANY conditions and that goes for family as well.

4. She'll have to wait 'til 2014, when the buying groups and subsidies

kick in, unless the Publicans destroy HCR first.
