Medical Marijuana Questions
I've heard a couple of rumors about what will happen if the medical marijuana bill passes. One is that anybody who is taking it will not be allowed to have a gun. The other is that anybody who is going to take it will have to take a class on how to keep their kids from getting their hands on it. LOL

Does anybody know if those rumors are true? Any links backing them up would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to find the answers but so far I haven't been able to. If they are indeed true, it's completely ludicrous!

1. more scare tactics
any time the gun being taken away comes out you can bet it is just to stop it from passing. I think it is going to fail anyway, so it is a none starter

2. I think it will pass...again..
Of course here in Arizona that doesn't mean a thing since it's been passed before.

3. that's laughable considering
the judicial interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. I'd take that rumor with a huge glass of salt

4. It is laughable but then...
this is Arizona. Similar medical marijuana bills were passed by voters in the past only to be overturned. Yet taking concealed weapons into bars is perfectly legal now because nothing could possibly go wrong with guns and alcohol.

7. Apparently it's federal law
and not state law...

"Colorado gun shop owners are seeing an increase in calls questioning whether medical marijuana users, complying with state law, are able to purchase new firearms. The response from gun store owners is, “No.” According to Matt Solomon, owner of Alpine Arms in Eagle, people who hold medical marijuana cards may be complying with state law, but marijuana possession is still a federal offense and federal law applies when buying or selling guns through licensed dealers."

8. Federal law doesn't apply in Az
At least that's the Arizona thinks. It's almost guaranteed that anything preventing gun ownership will be faced with a battle in Az or ignored. What good is any regulation or law without enforcement? There's a lot of laws/regulations like that.

9. Hmmm
It will be interesting to see what happens here if that prop passes..which I hope it does. But I think the gun shops might have some problems if they do sell to medical marijuana users. Of course a person could get around all of that by either buying their guns from private parties or their marijuana from private parties or both from private parties. LOL

10. So, what did happen
with Prop 203, I think it was, the medical mj resolution. Last I could find, the vote was too close to call.

Thanks.

11. I was wondering too.
The last I heard it was too close to call but there were more 'no' votes.
