Sarah Palin buy a house in north Scottsdale?
Has Sarah Palin bought a house in north Scottsdale?

For months, rumors have circulated in Arizona political circles that the former Alaska governor and possible 2012 presidential contender either was shopping for homes in Scottsdale or had already bought one.

A just-closed deal on a secluded luxury home in far north Scottsdale might fit the bill, and talk has begun that this may be the one. It's an 8,000-square-foot, dark-brown stucco home with a guard gate that can keep unwanted visitors away. It has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a six-car garage, a swimming pool and spa, and a full basement with a home theater, billiards room and wine cellar.

Safari Investments LLC paid $1.695 million cash for the home in a deal that appears designed to cloak the identity of a high-profile buyer.

1. As I expected.
When the grifter's daughter "bought" a house up there, I knew momma would be settling in, too. After all, our residency requirement for elected offices here are pretty lax. She's going to do a McCain, go for the Senate or House, if not "merely" Governor. That's the same path that Johnny Mack took after marrying a nice fortune in this state. What is it about my state that attracts these Carpetbaggers and flim-flam artists?

2. "Carpetbaggers"? True, but.....
...I hope you are using the term even-handedly...

"The long-serving United States Senator from New York, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, announced his retirement in November 1998. Several prominent Democratic figures, including Representative Charles B. Rangel of New York, urged Clinton to run for Moynihan's open seat in the United States Senate election of 2000.<192> Once she decided to run, the Clintons purchased a home in Chappaqua, New York, north of New York City, in September 1999."

4. The only difference with McCain is that Arizona was the logical place
Moved around in the Navy, so no real home - so moved to where wife's family business was.

SEATTLE -- A new poll released Tuesday shows that 39 percent of Washington state voters think Rep. Dennis Kucinich should not run for office in our state, Talking Points Memo reports.

Kucinich (D-Ohio) has floated the idea of moving to Washington state and running for Congress here because his district is likely to be eliminated when the lines are redrawn (by Republicans) while Washington is picking up a Congressional seat.

"I love the area. I love the people," Kucinich told KIRO 7's D.C. Bureau Chief Carol Han earlier this month. He also described his first visit to the Seattle area 30 years ago this way: "It felt like home. I mean, there's a lot about the people in Washington state that feels a little like Ohio."

There is a mandatory residence period for most states for getting in-state tuition rates at public universities, there ought to be one for running for any public office as well.

7. No...he "doesn't hate" her.
He says the only problem he has with her is that she quit her job. My boss isn't very bright. Calls himself a "Libertarian", but doesn't know what it means. Our political discussions are fun as hell, though. Gotta give him credit for listening.
