Need advice on Northern AZ credit unions

On Bank Transfer Day (November 5; http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2011/10/10-9), we want to transfer our accounts out of Wells Fargo into a credit union. (This is something I've been wanting to do for ages anyway; having an actual date to do it on just made it easier.)

There are two here in the Verde Valley that we can join: Arizona State Credit Union and Credit Union West. Has anyone had any experiences with either of them, either good or bad? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

1. I liked AZSU..but they closed the branch in my town....

They were good & getting better with their online stuff all the time.Too bad...I hated to leave but didn't want to run to Cottonwood all the time.

Don't know anything about CUW. :shrug:

We decided to go with Arizona State CU and opened our account yesterday. I agree, it is a pain schlepping all the way to Cottonwood (and the far side of Cottonwood, at that), but it's worth it to leave Wells Fargo. (I live in the same town you do; in fact, we met in person at those anti-war candlelight vigils of many years ago.)

3. I found Credit Union West here in the west valley extremely

unsatisfactory. I went in 3 times and had 3 bad experiences. Moved to M&I Bank, tho I wanted a credit union.
