Want do do a small activist thing in Santa Monica friday nights?

I emailed Chomsky, and since he didn't say no, I'm taking it as a yes. I told him I was planning on handing out CD's of his speeches on the 3rd St. Promenade in SM, and he was OK with it. So, I'm going!

This Friday night is my first trip down there. Anybody else want to go? I'm sort of new at this political activist thing, so I'm planning on just handing out the CD's and copies of the Bill of Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It's so funny to see that people think these documents are totally ridiculous these days.

I'll have a sign of some type, and a bunch of form letters that can be mailed to Barbara Boxer on various topics from financial support of the war to our use of torture, with a donation available for people who want to pay for their own stamp.

5. Being a street vendor/entertainer there sometimes, I know the score

No billboards
No tables more than 3'x2'
No more than two tables per vendor
Must move every 2 hours to a location more than 20' from the previous one
Must not be closer than 20 feet to another vendor
No signs higher than 3'6" from the ground
Only one article of each type allowed to be on display
Private "police" arrogant and on a hair-trigger
Black shirt police brutal and arrogant
Brown shirt police not so bad, bit more laid back

6. I got thrown out of the Grove last Friday, but think the Prom will be bett

er. Hopefully I can actually hand some stuff out this time.

I got out a bunch of Kerry fliers on Sunday and about 50 Chomsky CD's. Good time was had by all.

I think this Friday I'll hit the Promenade. Goal: 50 CD's, 200 flyers.
