Your help is needed to elect Donna Frye as mayor! DFA is asking all volunteers to please come to San Diego this weekend!

We now have a terrific shot at getting Donna Frye elected as Mayor of San Diego. The special election is Tuesday, July 26th. The only other Democrat in the race, Jim Bell, has just bowed out and endorsed Donna. Donna has been endorsed nationally by PDA and DFA--and we have Jim Dean (Howard Dean's brother) coming to town Sunday to help out!

DFA is asking volunteers from all over the Southwest to come to San Diego this weekend and help walk precincts for Donna, or man phone banks. We're hosting a BBQ on the bay Saturday night for all volunteers, plus a picnic on Sunday at Balboa Park with Jim Dean!

Donna is a huge advocate of open, honest government. In the wake of Mayor Murphy's resignation and now the convictions (and pending resignations) of the Acting Mayor and another Council member, the need to restore integrity in government here is the best argument for electing Donna.

3. Anyone else here getting spam from Steve Francis's campaign?

They've been showing up in my mailbox the last week or so, and I'm trying to figure out what mailing list he "raided" to get my email address from to start spamming me. I certainly didn't request anything from him or sign up with any right wing web sites. I am subscribed to get news, etc. from the Union Tribune. Anyone else get them so we can zone in on who the party is that's been selling off our privacy to this slime?...

His latest line was that "In the Datamar polls, Francis moved 18 points in a month, while rivals Donna Frye and Jerry Sanders both dropped in the same time period."

Donna's latest ratings are 44%. Hardly a drop when all of her previous pollings were lower than this. Quite a distortion he's got going! In some respects, I hope he wins, because I think moderates that are in the current 19% that support Sanders are more apt to jump ship over to Donna Frye in a runoff than they would from Francis's campaign over to Sanders if Sanders were to face Frye.

I just moved from Lakeside into San Diego proper a couple of weeks ago. Do I have time to get my registration changed over and vote?

5. Unfortunately no, the deadline was last Tuesday...

Two weeks before the election. Sorry 'bout that! Would have liked to have counted your vote! You can certainly encourage others to help vote your interest though. We're doing a lot of last minute campaigning to get that extra 6% or so that Donna needs to win this election outright on Tuesday.

I was out of the state at the time on a trip.

well, I'll be able to vote in the special come November. And I don't think you'll need my vote, my neighbourhood (North Park) is covered with Donna Frye signs!
