South to work for Westly

Steve Westly has announced that Garry South, who rose to fame as the man who got Gray Davis elected governor and then re-elected, will join the Westly for Governor campaign as a senior adviser. South is smart and focused, and understands the sweet spot in California politics better than anyone I know. Westly's still the underdog in the primary against Treasurer Phil Angelides, but his stock just went up.

1. Anything Weintraub sez is GOP disinformation.

He's the Bee's resident shill for BushCo and Team Arnie.

One thing Phil Angelides never did, which Westly did rather publicly, is exhibit a rather embarrassing schoolboy homosexual crush for the current Governor, just after the recall, when the Golden State's moron contingent was so enthralled with the glitzy little orange gym rat.

That was in 2003, and Arnold still has Westly's number. In next year's election campaign, pit Westly against Arnold, and alpha-male Arnold will make Westly his bitch in short order. (Sorry, ladies, but that's the blunt truth.) Put Angelides in the ring with Karl Rove's Austrian Trojan horse, however, and Angelides will send Arnold whimpering back to Planet Hollywood.

Of course RNC shills like Weintraub are pimping Westly.

2. Just seems like information to me

You may or may not like Weintraub's columns but
the hiring of South by Westly's team is just info.

A lot of Dems, working for Davis's ouster, were
enthralled by Arnold and voted for him. Westly,
as Comptroller wanted to get business done
in Sacramento as people voted him in to do. Getting
along with a new governor is an expected step.

Arnold looks like a gym rat on steroids next
to any slim person he stands next to...but
people are finally waking up to bulk doesn't mean
substance. Arnold's just Pete Wilson on 'roids.

You clearly are for Angelides, but making a better
argument for why we should vote for him, instead
of calling anyone running against Arnie, a bitch,
isn't helping your case.
