Woman dies in jump from Hummer limo onto SoCal freeway

COSTA MESA, Calif. - A woman who apparently jumped from a Hummer limousine as it traveled on Interstate 405 early Wednesday was killed, authorities said.

A preliminary investigation showed the woman was struck by several cars after jumping out of the limousine, said police Sgt. Loren Wyrick, adding that investigators have not ruled her death a suicide.

"We don't have her ID yet, we don't know what the motivation was and the circumstances leading to her death," Wyrick said.

The woman died shortly after 5 a.m., causing southbound traffic on the busy San Diego Freeway to back up for miles, he said.

Costa Mesa is in Orange County 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

Especially since I know a family member who did almost exactly the same thing while on them. No Hummer involved, though the jump from s bridge to her death is identical.

even at 5 am on the 405, chances are that limo could have been going about 3 mph.

don't know which or whether she was in the band.

Thankfully I stayed over at my girlfriend's last night down where I work - I usually take the PCH to avoid the 405 but hear that was a complete mess too with the detour overflow.

that this morning the 405 was backed up (northward) for at least ten miles!

The lady lived in Irvine and was in a band. That's about all we know.
