San Diego North County Dems - Fundraiser this Sunday 8/14

The Democratic Club of Oceanside-Carlsbad will host its Summer Fund-raiser at 4 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Woman's Club of Carlsbad, 3320 Monroe St.

The featured speaker, Dr. Warren Farrell, will discuss aspects of "Why Men Earn More," his latest book. Farrell is a committed Democrat of long standing, and was a candidate in the state gubernatorial recall election.

Francine Busby, Democratic candidate for the 50th Congressional District, also will address the group.


Chamber music will be performed by cellist Sean duBois and violist Paul Grant, both college students. An international potluck will be provided by members, and a live auction will be conducted by Raven Lopez-Workman of Riverside.

It'll be a bit of a drive from the city but I'll be there if I can. Sounds like an interesting topic though I have to admit I took a gender studies class when I was an undergrad at UCSB which dealt with the "gender gap" in pay.
