John Gibson Smears Cindy Sheehan and the University of California

John Gibson

Fox News' John Gibson was the guest-host of "The O'Reilly Factor" on Thursday night.

Gibson discussed Cindy Sheehan, a woman in California whose son was a Marine killed in Iraq. She is trying to arrange a meeting with George W. Bush.

John Gibson argued against her geographically:

GIBSON (8/11/05): I can't help but notice that Cindy Sheehan is from Vacaville, California, very close to U.C. Davis, very close to U.C. Berkeley, reasonably close to U.C. Santa Cruz, where I believe that a lot of those WTO protesters came from. What do the university anti-war protesters have to do with her?

Those universities have plenty of students and professors with more decency than John Gibson.

By the way, I can't help but notice that Fox News' studios are very close to Times Square, where I believe that a lot of those whores use to ply their trade. What do whores have to do with people like John Gibson, who will say anything for a buck?

And what a stretch for an insult. UC Davis, no - Berkeley, no - Santa Cruz. Congratulations, John, you're 113 miles from Vacaville at this point. Right down the freakin' road. :eyes:

What an idiot.

7. That is one scary picture
He looks a shady pastor of some church in a poor section of town. The kind that gets caught skimming the collection money and having an affair with the lead soprano of the church choir, when he's not spending Saturday nights at the topless place in the town next to his all the time thundering about the permissive society and the godless liberals.

9. Like Gibson or any one else on FoxNews has credibility
The Bushies and their surrogates in the right wing media have no valid points to make about either how they got us into this quagmire or how how they are administering the occupation of Iraq. All they can do to resort to smears, lies, half-truths and red herrings in a vain attempt to discredit those who dissent.

16. I remember when Gibson was a reporter at KCRA TV Sacramento.
(So was David Gregory of NBC by the way.) Gibson wasn't much then and less so now. Perfect for Faux, another hollow man.

Vacaville BTW also is very close to Travis AFB. I suspect a lot of military folks wouldn't take kindly to professional media gasbags sliming their moms for exercising their first amendment rights. Ya know, the constitutional rights those military folks have taken an oath to defend?

I suppose Gibson comes from the "support the troops but slime their families if they speak out" school of punditry. Tell us, John, of your heroic military record or personal sacrifices for your country. :sarcasm: Another armchair chickenhawk.

21. F--k Gibson!
How many feet can this d--chebag stick in his mouth?! WTF is wrong with UC Davis? WTF is wrong with the University of California? I went to UC Riverside (and was accepted to UC Davis for med school...went somewhere else, though). I'd send this bastard a nasty-gram, but it would go through one ear and out the other...through thin air.

Jerk.

23. I grew up in Vacaville, CA. Let me help you a bit, john.
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 06:24 PM by Kerrytravelers
Vacville, CA is 6 miles off of Travis AFB. There is also a state prison that use to house Charlie Manson and the guy that shot actress Rebecca Schaffer. There is a very high military population and a very high military retiree population there (my Dad has been both... and yet, is still a Dem.)

Vacaville is the most northern city still considered the Bay Area, even though Vacaville is actually closer in milage to Sacramento. It is a bedroom community to both Sacramento and to San Francisco, being 35 miles from Sacramento and 50 miles from the heart of San Francisco. In fact, each month, more and more people are moving from San Francisco to Vacaville because of housing and the ability to commute. There are also a large number of Mormon churches and many fundamental evangelican churches. There is also a growing homosexual population. In high school, I had several classmates oopenly come out and not suffer returbution from their classmates. There are openly gay teachers on the campuses and conservative teachers, as well. There are more than one DNC delegates. As a former teacher in Vacaville, I never felt overwhelmed by the "freepers," nor did I feel that our students only received a liberal point of view.

So, Vacaville is an interstng mix of liberal-conservative. The population is growing by leps and bounds and shows no signs of stopping. Therefore, it can be considered a swing-city- easily persuaded to vote both ways. Vacaville and Solano County went for bush, but has a Democratic representative.

I suggesst mr. gibson do a bit of homework before mouthing off and making absolutely no sense.
