1. That will teach those guys to vote RED.....
BushCo has a ulterior Mission...hike gas prices...he is an oil guy and thats whot oil guys do,

Why? Its an oil grab for the last pools of oil on the Planet. Soon, we will be killing a lot more peeps through lack of oil to keep the farm tractors, etc, running. The Pubs want more than a fair share, they want it all, if not, most of it....That is the selfish ways of the Pubs...

By voting Red, we are saying its OK to the Pub Greedy Policies. They have brainwashed us for 50 years and this is the results....

4. $2.63 in San Diego.
Gas prices are high but adjusted for inflation they aren' the highest ever though we might get there by next summer. The peak summer driving period always sees the price going up plus there is uncertainity about Iraq's output, unrest in Saudi Arabia, several offshore plateforms in the Gulf of Mexico were damaged during the storm season, plus we have more demand for gas then we have refineries.

That's the short term reason though the long term reason is the world demand for petrol keeps growing faster then supply so prices are going up. The US is the biggest consumer but the areas seeing the largest growth rates in demand are China and India. We all know CAFE standards will have to go up eventually but the Republican Party is to in bed with heavy industry to do what needs to be done.

6. Gas went up 2 cents in one hour
I just got back from a drive to the beach. I was gone a total of one hour. The gas station up at my corner raised their gas from $2.67 to $2.69. However, they have the lowest gas price that I saw on my way to and from the beach. (Oceanside)

8. Pretty good I hope.
They said it would take two weeks before I got the results. I'm hoping for the best. Thanks for remembering. ;)

10. Not sure.
But an even better way to save gas would be to force autocompanies to include trucks and SUVs into their CAFE standards figures (they have always been exempt) and to require a 2% increase in cafe standards per year for 10 years. Due to the lead time required to design new models we can't realistically go faster then that though we could immediately effect a shift to more fuel efficent cars by raising the gas tax. That would be political suicide though.

I'm afraid the best we can realistically hope for is to begin having trucks and SUVs included into CAFE calculations, force them to follow the same crash & pollution laws as cars (currently they have much more laxed laws) and modestly raise CAFE limits to around 30 from todays 25 (if trucks are included). Not revolutionary but a big step in the right direction. Europe & Japan already do far better then thst and we were getting an average of 28 mpg back in 1986 so this isn't revolutionary technology. Using smaller engines, turbo chargers, and lighter weight materials (like aluminium found in the soda can you just threw away) could easily reach it. Hell we're pretty much just trying to get back to where we were 20 years ago.
