S.F. Supervisors Denounce Iranian Attacks On Gays

San Francisco's Board of Supervisors has passed a resolution urging the United States Department of State to publicly condemn Iran's execution of two teenagers for allegedly having gay sex.

The measure is largely symbolic. Supervisors recently passed another resolution calling on Congress to repeal 'don't ask, don't tell, the military's ban on gays serving openly in the armed forces.

Mahmoud Asgari, 18, and Ayaz Marhoni, 19, were hanged in the city of Mashad on July 19.
