Health Benefits Major Sticking Point

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- Bus drivers have until Wednesday afternoon to respond to the final contract offer from the Santa Cruz Metro.

With health benefits the big sticking point, the Metro has proposed cutting other benefits to pay for better medical insurance. But drivers say those benefits are not up for grabs and the union has overwhelmingly authorized a strike if contract talks collapse. <snip>
