Governor's numbers fall even lower in poll
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/08/25/BAGOBECIB017.DTL

With 11 weeks until the Nov. 8 special election, just more than one in three Californian voters approve of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's job performance -- and only one of his special-election measures has even a plurality of support, a Public Policy Institute of California poll released today shows.

Among the three initiatives the governor is backing, only Proposition 74 -- which increases the time it would take for public school teachers to gain tenure -- has even a minimum of support. The poll showed that 49 percent of the likely voters surveyed favor the measure, with 42 percent opposed and 9 percent undecided.

The linchpin of the Schwarzenegger self-styled reform agenda -- Proposition 76, the "Live Within Our Means" state budget cap -- faces overwhelming opposition. The survey showed 61 percent of likely voters oppose the measure while just 28 percent support it and 11 percent are undecided.

Ahnuld is toast--buh bye

2. Naah
The only way Arnold came to power was the recall election allowed so many candidates that the one with name reocgnition took all. If Arnold had had to participate in a legitimate debate he would have never gotten elected. He's gone next year anyway..why waste another 80 million bucks to have fewer precincts open than in a regular general election?

6. he's wasted enough of this state's money
we'll kick him out next year, if he even decides to run again, which I still don't think he'll do

7. I'm with ya on that one.
If all of his ballot props fail ... he won't run. Watch how fast Mc Clintock jumps in the race.

5. Quite a job he's undertaken
He went from being a popular film star and favorite of the Republicans who still think Democracy is a Good Thing, to a laughingstock who has pounded his state into the dust, proven himself incompetent to handle even rudimentary political tasks, come across as a half-assed bully -- and he can't even slink back into action pictures since he's alienated well over half of his audience.

Sometimes being an overachiever doesn't help.
