San Diego Breaking: Judge halts Mt Soledad cross transfer
12:16 p.m. September 2, 2005

SAN DIEGO – A San Diego Superior Court judge has issued a temporary restraining order barring the city from transferring the Mount Soledad cross to the federal government, a deal voters overwhelmingly approved in San Diego's July special election.

1. This is dumb.
Just let the cross be designated as a war memorial as it was originally intended and be done with it. It is already a historical landmark in our city so why take it down? Much better to simply give it federal status.
