Woman sues PG&E over transformer explosion

A woman who was seriously injured last month when an underground power transformer exploded in San Francisco’s Financial District has filed a lawsuit against Pacific Gas and Electric Co. seeking unspecified damages.

Lisa Nash, 47, was walking near Kearny and Post streets shortly before 10 a.m. Aug. 19 when she was injured by the blast, which threw a manhole cover 30 feet, buckled concrete, blew out windows at Crocker Galleria and started a small fire.

and PG&E moves fast to cover their corporate ass!

"We're very sorry she was injured by our equipment in this explosion," Nelson said. "We want her to know ... that PG&E is going to do the right thing for the family. We've offered to pick up the cost of all her medical treatment and her full recovery.

"We're more than happy to talk to the Nashes or their attorney about any other assistance we can provide."

5. Transformer explosions can easily be deadly.
