it's a commuter school. Real reason is because Hayward is seen as a hell hole of meth fiends. I mean SFSU is a commuter school and the same goes for most of the state schools.
IMAO the new name sucks out loud.

People in Central and Eastern Contra Costa didn't register with CSU Hayward as a local school.
