I guess congratulations are in order. You Republicans have won. You have bankrupted our once great nation and brought California, the 5th largest economy in the world, to its knees. I know you are proud of your deeds.

Your greed and cunning seem to know no bounds. Republicans’ naked hatred of government exceeds the will of over 60 percent of the citizens of the state who want to create a budget that works. The only thing Republicans seem to care about is power; and they wield it like a cudgel. In schoolyard bully tactics, Republicans (a mere 30% of the California electorate) have refused to act in any responsible or human manner and “Drowned our state government in a bathtub.” Destroying a functional government is their goal; designed by Grover Norquist, the chief Republican strategist, and carried out by mostly old, rich, white men who seem to hate America in general and California in particular.

Well, this time you have cut off your noses to spite your faces. “No taxes” is your cry. No services is the end result. Of course we all know, if you, your child, your parent or friend has a need, you will belly up to the public trough with your elbows out so you can slop up as much as possible. If the trough is dry, THEN you will make law that helps you and any effect then trickles down to the masses you so detest.

But even in the end, it will affect you too. In the words of Bob Marley:

May you all receive your just rewards.

I said something like it to the woman who works at my post office whose husband has been furloughed, but her wrong wing mind is all made up that it is somehow the democrats who have caused it all. Unbelievable, really, but shows how strong the influence of Rush and the other radio voices in rural areas.
