Dear Fresno Friends

Governor Schwarzenegger is coming to town for a "budget presentation" at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at the Tower Theater 815 E. Olive Ave.

If you are unhappy with his destructive cuts in the state's system of supports for people with developmental disabilities and their families, it's time to tell him (and the statewide news media he'll bring with him). Sometimes it only takes a few people with handmake signs and pictures to get media attention.

There's no formal "protest" planned that we've heard about, but we know some people are planning on being there. You're invited to join them.

Speaking out like this a sacred American tradition, perfectly legal, and pretty simple. You stand or walk back and forth on the sidewalk and sing, chant, pray, or just hold up your signs and pictures. Just be sure to obey all the usual laws, including not blocking the street or sidewalk, and obey any police instructions.

Please distribute this to your Fresno-area friends tonight.
