See Sen Boxer's letter at the bottom.
Could someone PLEASE tell Sen. Boxer that law enforcement in Central CA has repeatedly receives money and it would go to better use than law enforcement. Fresno Police Dept and Fresno Co received a lot of money from Homeland Security, they received money when they targeted and infiltrated Peace Fresno and called them a terrorist group.
See the Fresno Co. Deputy sent to spy on Peace Fresno (for 6 months)

http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2003/03/29/15929181.phpmore money for cops has NEVER been a viable solutions to Poverty and Discrimination !
I usually support Sen Boxer.. but she really has it wrong. Where does all the Law-enforcement money go? just how many special high tech helicopters do they need ?
Maybe there would be less CRIME, GANGS, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, DRUG TRAFFICING, DRUG USE, ETC..
if the would take the money Sen Boxer secured and use it for:
HOMELESS PREVENTION, MENTAL ILLNESS, DRUG TREATMENT, AFTER SCHOOL RECREATION, or
INVESTIGATING Fresno PD, and Fresno Co Sheriff's dept and Madera Co Sherrif's dept!!!!!!

Dear Friend:
The Senate Appropriations Committee has passed legislation to fund Commerce, Justice, Science, and related agencies. As part of that bill, certain notable local projects would receive federal funding, including the *** County of Fresno’s request for funds to upgrade law enforcement and first responder communication equipment for residents of Fresno, Kings, Madera and Tulare Counties. ***
The eventual completion of the Data Interoperability System will improve the safety of approximately 1.5 million residents of Fresno, Kings, Madera and Tulare counties by allowing law enforcement and first responders to communicate and share vital information through enhanced voice, data and video communications during emergencies.
The bill includes $300,000 for Fresno County’s Data Interoperability System, allowing law enforcement officials to operate more effectively and more safely.
This bill still has several steps before becoming law, but this is an important step in funding this important project for Fresno. You can count on me to keep working to see that it is included in the final bill.
Sincerely,
Barbara Boxer
United States Senator
