Are we really this ignorant to think that legalizing recreational use of weed will help the California economy?
The ABC News used estimates of $800 per plant (2 ounces) and therefore $100 in tax revenue.
I've got a question: Why are they using illegal price rates to estimate this?
Let's get real.
If pot is legal (which I favor) then the price will drop through the floor and therefore down go the tax benefits. It is easy to grow...trust me... ;)
Now when you want to talk about a tax revenue generator then all eyes should be affixed to industrial hemp.
This is where the potential for revenue generation lies along with the revitalization of a manufacturing base, once again, in this country.
These sensationalized stories about marijuana "saving the California economy" are nonsense and tabloid fodder...unless you are talking about hemp.
