If you've been watching the news, you know that California universities are CUTTING all over the place. Funding and programs have been slashed. Here is the update from San Diego. The 2010 Spring Budget for musical productions has been COMPLETELY CUT. Future cuts are coming.
My friend, who works at SDSU music department, just sent me an email from the department. The CUTS for the Spring are BIG! If any of you care
about public education and music education in particular, please consider sending a donation to the SDSU Music program. The opera program, in particular, helps
to train students as singers, orchestral musicians, stage and set designers, costume designers, stage technicians, among other jobs. It is the most popular program
in the music department because it involves so many students first hand. Over the years, thousands of students have been involved with this program.
