No alcohol found in teen who crashed into Sonoma family of four
Edited on Fri Dec-18-09 04:58 PM by ailsagirl
Incredibly, the toxicology reports show that Steve Culbertson, who rammed his
car into a minivan carrying a family of four, had no alcohol in his system.

1. Even if not toxicated, what he did was dangerous.
But at least we have the facts straight. If Steve survived, he still deserves to have the proper charges/sentence.

In fact, Culbertson had a previous DUI and was a racing aficionado.

2. I can't imagine someone who drove so recklessly was sober

Right-- that's why I assumed he had to be drunk off his
butt to have done this.

Of course, it makes no difference as far as the stupidity
and tragedy go, but I find it strange that someone would
quite deliberately and knowingly plow into cars carrying
innocent people.

CHP said there were no skidmarks found.

But the authorities are now checking to see if there were
any drugs in his system-- he could have been high on
amphetamines, for all we know.

5. You don't lose steering if the belt breaks.
You lose power assist; the steering becomes heavy, but you can still steer.

4. Maybe he just screwed up.
Inexperience + poor judgment = tragedy

Not everything that happens in a car is due to drinking or talking on a cell phone.
