Three Walmart stores no longer offering free bags

Walmart stores in Citrus Heights, Folsom and Ukiah are no longer offering customers free bags at checkout.

Shoppers must either bring their own bags or shell out at least 15 cents to buy a reusable bag at the store.

The experimental policy went into full effect on Saturday. In October, signs were posted at the three stores encouraging customers to provide their own bags and the reusable bags went on sale. The 15-cent model is royal blue and lightweight polypropylene fabric. A roomier model sells for 50 cents. Both are washable.

11. No, it's a way to save on overhead. Never confuse going green with walmart.

if there is no profit in something, they won't do it.

This however is a perfect example of how corporations green wash.

They can now claim they are going "green" by eliminating the bags.

When in fact all it does it help them make more money. The green aspect is just a result, not the reason.

One of my favorite things about Costco is how they don't use bags and instead re-purpose display and shipping boxes as carrying containers for customers.

7. We have canvas bags we bought at Harris Teeter.been using them

oh about 6 yrs now. 3$ or so each they get a bit messy i put throw em in the washer.
