Comprehensive Immigration Reform NOW! vigil on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Fresno City Hall
Our friends on the May First Committee for Comprehensive Immigration Reform
invite everyone to attend a vigil on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at
Fresno City Hall. Let’s join them on this day of national and international
action against SB1070 and in support of a Comprehensive Immigration Reform NOW!

Vigil in Solidarity with Arizona
Comprehensive Immigration Reform Now!

Since Arizona Governor signed SB1070 into law, national pressure has been
mounting considerably. A multitude of international organizations and local,
national, and international leaders have condemned the law as anti-immigrant
and promoting racial profiling. People have repudiated the law through diverse
ways, including vigils, marches, manifestations, hunger strikes, and civil
disobedience.

Set to take affect in August, SB 1070 already faces lawsuits, but if this
struggle through the courts fails, the law will take force. If this happens
Arizona will become a police state against immigrants (and all people of
color), and we cannot allow this!

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST SB1070
Friday, May 28, 2010

On this day, millions of organizations across the world will unite to say NO to
SB1070 and YES to a Comprehensive Immigration Reform that will legalize
millions of immigrants in the United States.

In Fresno, the First of May Committee for Immigration Reform will unite for
this international call that our immigrant sisters and brothers of Arizona make
to the world to unite in solidarity with their struggle to defeat SB1070.

We will be asking the City of Fresno to denounce SB 1070 and to proclaim
support for Comprehensive Immigration Support as the only solution.

Starting at 6:00 pm, hundreds of residents from Fresno and the surrounding
communities will join for a Vigil in denouncement to racism, SB1070, and call
for a Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

We make a call for the community in general, community and immigrant
organizations, churches, unions, and business to join this vigil.

We also invite the press to join us on this day of national and international
action against SB1070 and in support of a Comprehensive Immigration Reform NOW!

NO TO RACISM IN ARIZONA AND THE COUNTRY! NO TO SB 1070!
WE ARE ALL ARIZONA! MAY 28, 2010
