Prop 14 were Orange and San Francisco - not a pattern you'll see every day... :)

1. The parties - well the Democratic Party
Edited on Thu Jun-10-10 02:29 PM by xxqqqzme
here in OC did a good job of getting the word out. I'm an OCDP vice chair and every meeting I attended, every little talk I delivered included a 'NO' on 14 and the reasons why. I don't know how the OC rethugs handled it but I know they opposed it too.

3. i was raised in santa ana
in the 60's and remember when santa ana and the whole of OC was a john bircher's heaven. our immediate family was probably one of the few who were dems. i haven't lived there for 25 years, but have been back frequently and have seen the changes.

unfortunately, there are still lots of repug family members in OC, but it's gratifying to hear that there's been a turnaround. :)

props!

4. We have over 515,000 registered

Democrats in Orange County. Only LA County has more registered Democrats. We have been working hard here.

Thank you for noticing. It is much appreciated.

We are going to get a Democrat in Congress from south OC in November. Beth Krom is going to replace Campbell. I am working very hard to replace Jim Silva here in the 67th Assembly District. I received 16,883 votes on Tuesday. I only have to multiply that by 6 and I can win this thing! (So easy to say)

6. That's good to hear. I grew up in OC (Repub family still lives there)
and it's nice to know there's an active liberal community - although I imagine you've got quite an uphill battle on a lot of topics...
