KGO-TV reported yesterday that New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, an independent, endorsed San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, for Lieutenant Governor. Previously, Bloomberg
campaigned for the Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman. Very interesting choice of endorsements. I wonder how many voters in California will actually vote split-ticket like Bloomberg somehow advocates? For example, some Democrats who are concerned over Newsom's lack of experience in state government might vote Brown for governor and Abel Maldonado (R) for LG.
