High school wrestler charged with sex crime after inserting fingers in opponent's anus

In a crowded gym during practice in front of parents and coaches, the Buchanan High School wrestler tackled a teammate and executed a move his coaches taught him.

He inserted his fingers between the boy's buttocks.

It's called the "butt drag," in which a wrestler grabs a rival's butt cheek and puts fingers in the anus to get leverage. The move is widely used at matches around the country and has been around for decades.

But now it is at the center of an uproar after Buchanan High wrestler Preston Hill was expelled and charged with a sex crime for using it on a teammate.

6. Wow, I know the old addage "You learn something new every day"- but I didn't expect to learn THAT.

That's fucked up and an abomination. I'm of the old school that people should only have fingers shoved up their ass if, well, if they want fingers shoved up their ass.

I grew up in gentler times however, and may be dating myself.

11. As a parent of a kid in wrestling...

I've seen this move many times. Just to clarify, the fingers are never "in" the anus (there are at least 2 layers of material between them). I've also heard this move called "checking the oil."

Personally, I've always thought that this move was kind of gross, but sexual assault? Expelled? Seems a bit harsh.

15. I've seen this move used once. It led to a fist fight.

The kid who got his "oil checked" came around and smashed the other kid square in the face with his closed fist. He wasn't a little guy either, and it was a HARD hit. Once someone explained the move, I couldn't blame him.

I know he (the puncher) was ejected from the meet, but don't know if he ever faced any other discipline for it. And the kid who stuck his fingers in the crack? He was wrestling again a few matches later.

This was 20 years ago, so the move is nothing new.
