Calif. house burns after man says he shot his wife

SANTEE, Calif. -- Flames destroyed a San Diego County house Saturday after a man called 911 saying he had just shot his wife and was going to burn his house down, authorities said.

Neighbor Ruth Taloza told the San Diego Union-Tribune that she had walked across the street earlier in the day to thank the man for an air compressor he had given her children, and found him in his open garage.

She said the man told her his wife had cancer and they were being evicted.

"He told me they're being kicked out of their home and they were both laid off from their jobs," Taloza told the newspaper. "They had tried for a lower loan rate and were denied."

it sounds like their world was really coming down.
Horrible as it sounds, I think I can't blame this person.
It occurs to me that this is something that the both came to an agreement on.
without money to fight the cancer, and BOTH loosing their jobs...

I don't know if this had happened to me and my exwife (when we were married) we'd have made a different decision... if we were living in the US with no way of her returning to Holland that is...

oh yeah, having guaranteed health care make this easier...

god I hate this predatory "health insurance" system we have here!

Everything else is manageable, but get a major condition and it becomes insurmountable fast! =[
